Sunsets and Roses || Axel X Reader || Chapter 4

The sound of birds humming a peacefully tune, gently awoke you from your slumber. You yawned lazily, slowly getting out of bed. You tied your hair up into a ponytail, heading downstairs to the kitchen. You greeted your mother, no response. You started pouring yourself a glass of orange juice and headed over to the table. Your gaze fell to a lose piece of paper laying on the table with a note written on it.

"Morning sweetheart, I have to run out for some groceries, I'll be back soon. If you're going out with your friends please be safe, and bring an umbrella.
Love you
Mom"

You smiled and headed back upstairs to get changed. You slipped in to a pair of [F/C] shorts and [F/C] t-shirt. You grabbed a thin hoodie, threw it on and headed back downstairs. You glanced out the window, the sun had vanish, being replaced by a dark thick sheet of rain. You sighed and flopped down on the couch, turning the T.V on. You flipped through the channels frustrated, nothing was on.
The front door slowly creaked open, a figure creeped in and hide behind the couch. He jumped out, his small ponytail bouncing. You turned your attention to him, a smile on your face.

"Oh, Hey Axel" You greeted happily

"You're boring" He pouted

"The door creaked"

He grumbled under his breath and sat down beside you on your [F/C] couch. You giggled and handed him a Wii U remote. He glanced at you, a smirk on his mischievous looking face.

"You're so on" He said as you pulled out Super Smash Bros.

You smiled and started it up. The character selection was up on screen and you scanned through the list. Your eyes met with Cloud, you perked up and selected him. You begin the game, his character quickly runs towards you. You smirk doing a series of combos knocking him off the filed,claiming your first victory.

"The hell man!" He pouted

"Woohoo!" You shouted gleefully

"No fair, you picked the most OP character"

"Did not"

"So did"

"Fine~ I'll pick another one"

He smirked in victory as you went back to the character menu. You select Link while he selected Shiek. You began the game anew. You charge at him, doing another series of combos, he struggled to stay on the battlefield, throwing a few combos back at you. You smiled and use your most powerful attack causing him to go far off the field.

Second victory.

"No way!" He growled

"2-0"

"You cheated" He stated, looking at you 

"What?" You glanced at him

"You've been practicing"

"Actually, I haven't played since we last did this" You looked away, slightly embarrassed

"Really?" He asked sweetly, a soft smile on his lips.

You nodded and faced the TV again, ready for the next round.


The score is set between 15-15. You're halfway through the final match, ready to claim victory, you run towards him about to do the final set of combos when the power went out. The two of you sat in a pitch black room, dumbfounded. The sound of rain hitting hard against the window, thunder roaring through the afternoon and lightning brightening the darkened day.

"So close" You sighed

"That was fun" He smiled at you

You nodded and sat there a moment listening to the sound of rain. Axel doing the same, he closed his eyes and cuddled into the couch.
